UNITED WAY DE-ACTIVATES DISASTER SERVICES
Coralville, IA – At the direction of Johnson County Emergency Management, the United Way Emergency Volunteer Center will deactivate and be placed on "stand by" as of 12:00 Noon on July 4th. The United Way Emergency Call Center will remain active from 8AM-4PM though July 15. Please remain aware of changing conditions and new updates.
Adam Yack, United Way of Johnson & Washington Counties' Disaster Services Coordinator, said "We very fortunate in this community to have great volunteers who respond at a moment's notice."
For questions after-hours, United Way 2-1-1 is available 24/7. United Way 2-1-1 is a regional health and human service information and referral line, which can be reached by dialing 2-1-1 or 1-866-469-2211.
Flood related information is also being updated regularly on the United Way of Johnson & Washington Counties website at unitedwayjwc.org.
Call the United Way Disaster Call Center at 337-8657 to talk with a Call Center volunteer. Let us know what help you require and we will match volunteers to your need. Hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. until July 15.
