2017 Summerships Program Launched
Coralville, IA – The 2017 Summership Program applications are now available for summer camps, programs and activities. K-12 students from Johnson and Washington County who are eligible for Free & Reduced Lunch can apply for the 84 available scholarships.
United Way of Johnson & Washington Counties and the Community Foundation of Johnson County are proud to continue the partnership, coordinating the scholarship program.
“Summerships provide access to summer-time, high quality camps and activities for children who otherwise might not have the opportunity,” explained Katie Knight, President & CEO of United Way of Johnson & Washington Counties. A Summerships scholarship will fund up to $250 of a camp or activity cost per child.
For 2017, the Summerships are made possible through investments from United Way of Johnson & Washington Counties, Procter & Gamble and the Summerships Endowment fund.
A gift of $5,000.00 funds one Summership scholarship in perpetuity.
