The United Way Hurricane Michael Recovery Fund
United Way is creating the United Way Hurricane Michael Recovery Fund to support local communities in Florida, Alabama, Georgia and the surrounding areas affected by Hurricane Michael. As part of our mission to build stronger communities, and to fight for the health and safety of every person in every community, United Ways in the affected areas will continue to raise money locally and respond to emerging needs as appropriate for their community. The national fund will complement those efforts and provide a single clearinghouse for individual and corporate donors who want to impact all affected areas.
- This is a response to donors and major media outlets who are looking for one, simplified place to give / direct people to impact the entire affected area.
- 100% of all money raised will be distributed to the affected United Ways.
- We will be working in partnership with affected United Ways once the storm recedes on distributing funds.
Individuals anywhere in the U.S. can now text MICHAEL to 898-211 to receive state-specific hurricane updates and information.
These moments are truly when our mantra - LIVE UNITED - comes to life. Thank you all for your continued efforts and support of our network.
