Meet Tocqeville Society Members, Tim & Sarah Krumm
Tim & Sarah Krumm have lived in the Iowa City community since 1983, when Tim started UI Law School. They were married in 1984, and have 3 children: Laura, Brian, & Peter. Together, they love traveling, cycling, and downhill skiing and are active in their church, Zion Lutheran. Tim also has served as the Board Chair of Mercy Iowa City, Iowa City Area Chamber of Commerce and the Community Foundation and currently sits on the Des Moines Metro Opera Board.
Tim and Sarah began supporting United Way very early on in their lives. Tim is a past board member and chair of the United Way Board of Directors as well as a past campaign chair. United Way started the Tocqueville society when Tim was serving on the board. Tim recalls Barry Griswell, then CEO of Principal Financial Group Des Moines and very active in United Way of America, came to a Johnson County event and issued a challenge/match to encourage Tocqueville memberships. Tim and Sarah responded at that time and became Tocqueville members.
When asked why Tim and Sarah become Tocqueville members, they shared with us, "Over many years, we have come to trust United Way to provide resources and leadership to address the most pressing community needs. We know that our contributions to United Way – together with those of thousands of other local contributors – are making a meaningful, measurable, and lasting impact. Many lives are touched and improved by United Way, and our community as a whole is strengthened."
We wish to thank Tim & Sarah for their commitment to United Way. You to can become a Leadership Giver with United Way of Johnson & Washington Counties. Contact Lois Buntz, Director of Major Gifts & Leadership Giving at 319.338.7823 or by email at Lois.Buntz@UnitedWayJWC.org
