North Liberty Community Pantry's 15th Annual Stone Soup Supper is an opportunity to build community between neighbors who need a warm meal, and neighbors who can provide that free meal. An old German folk tale involves hungry travelers who persuade local townsfolk to give them food by introducing them to Stone Soup. Although they started out with a stone in a pot of water, villagers each added garnishes of carrots, other vegetables, and spices ending up with a wonderfully nutritious and delicious soup for all the community to enjoy.

The United Way Adopt a Family Program allows businesses, community members, groups and organizations to provide local families with food, necessity items and gifts during the holidays. Families are identified by service agencies and they are experiencing extraordinary needs due to health issues, financial instability or other major circumstances. Adopters will receive the family wish list with information about the family, clothing sizes and items identified by the family. There are families of all sizes and stages that have need for support this year.
