Snap Benefit Pause: How to Help
We are deeply grateful to everyone who has reached out asking how to help during this time. The compassion and generosity of our community are what make Johnson and Washington Counties such caring and resilient places to live.
Right now, the best way to help is to direct food and financial donations to existing resources that already serve our neighbors every day. These pantries and programs are coordinated through the Food Access Network, ensuring donations are distributed efficiently and equitably across our community.
Please consider making a financial contribution to the Food Access Network Fund. This fund will support the purchasing foods together in bulk for better prices than individuals can get at the grocery store.

About United Way and COAD
United Way of Johnson & Washington Counties fights for the health, education, and financial stability of every person in our community. Through partnerships, advocacy, and direct community investment, United Way mobilizes the caring power of the community to improve lives and strengthen the region for all.
United Way’s Community Organizations Active in Disaster (COAD) is a local network of nonprofits, faith-based groups, government agencies, and community organizations that work together to prepare for, respond to, and recover from natural disasters and other emergencies.
Our local COAD helps ensure a coordinated, efficient, and equitable response. This collaboration prevents duplication of efforts, fills service gaps, and allows communities to recover more quickly and effectively when emergencies arise.
About the Johnson County Food Access Network
The Johnson County Food Access Network (JCFAN) is a coalition of emergency food providers - including pantries, meal sites, and food distribution organizations - working collaboratively to strengthen equitable food access across Johnson County through shared resources, coordinated food distribution, and collective advocacy.
Thank you for your compassion, collaboration, and continued support as we work together to ensure every member of our community has access to the food and care they need.
