The 19th Annual Power of the Purse- Purses & Pearls is on Thursday, October 22nd at the Bella Sala Event Center in Tiffin from 5 pm - 7 pm. Tickets coming soon! Grab your friends and don't miss your chance to join us in-person for this impactful fundraising event supporting United Way of Johnson & Washington Counties' campaign and initiatives. What is Power of the Purse?

Power of the Purse (POP) is United Way of Johnson & Washington Counties' signature fundraising event planned by a dedicated volunteer committee. This unforgettable evening features delicious food, wine, decadent desserts, designer handbags, unique experiences, and new this year—an exclusive Pearl-themed extravaganza showcasing luxury handbags, elegant jewelry, and other must-have treasures you won't find anywhere else. Guests can also purchase bottles of bubbles, with a significant portion of every sale directly supporting United Way's mission.

Every ticket, bid, and purchase helps create lasting local impact. Proceeds from Power of the Purse support United Way's work to improve lives across Johnson and Washington Counties by investing in 28 local partner agencies and initiatives that strengthen youth opportunity, healthy communities, financial security, and community resiliency.

When is Power of the Purse? 

  • Virtual bidding, raffle ticket, and auction purchases will begin one week prior to the in-person event online. All auction sales end at the close of the in-person event at 7 PM.
  • Culminating event will take place in person on October 22rd at 5 PM - 7 PM at Bella Sala Event Center in Tiffin, Iowa.

Cost of Power of the Purse?     

  • $60 Event Ticket, Includes: Ability to bid on and/or purchase purses, auction items, and raffle tickets, wine and appetizers, social gathering with community members uniting for a great cause!
  • Sponsor a whole table for your guests at $600
